Rocky Bleier
Rocky Bleier, Pittsburgh Steelers Running Back

This year’s event features Special Guest Speaker, Rocky Bleier. Rocky is a Notre Dame Graduate, Vietnam Veteran, and Pittsburgh Steelers Four-time Superbowl Champion. Framed through parallels to football and Rocky Bleier’s personal journey as a war veteran, national collegiate football champion, and four-time Superbowl champion with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Bleier’s story explores both structural and emotional aspects for individuals and organizations to reach their greatest potential.

Lisa Baker
State Sen. Lisa Baker

The 2017 Advocate of the Year is State Senator Lisa Baker, serving the 20th district. She serves as a member of the following committees: Aging and Youth, Appropriations, Consumer Protection and Professional Licensure, Public Health and Welfare, and Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness. These assignments give her the chance to work in-depth on many of the concerns expressed by individuals and groups in the district, to push forward on reform and cost-efficiency measures, and to shape programs opening the door for opportunities that residents are seeking.

Other award recipients will be announced throughout the month of February.

In addition, more than 30 pieces of artwork submitted by artists with disabilities to The Arc’s recent art contest will be exhibited and the top three winners awarded with distinguished honors.
