Four Time Super Bowl Champion Rocky Bleier to Headline The Arc Annual Awards DinnerFeb 7, 2017
Pittsburgh Steelers great, Rocky Bleier, will take the stage to tell his gripping tale of courage on both the football fields of America and the battlefields of Vietnam, at The Arc of Luzerne County Annual Awards Dinner, March 23, at The Woodlands Inn. The Annual Awards Dinner celebrates community honorees that help improve the quality of lives for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Bleier will share the story of how he fought his way back after becoming injured in Vietnam to become a Pittsburgh Steelers four-time Super Bowl Champion.
Senator Lisa Baker will be honored as this year’s Advocate of the Year. Baker has been a champion for people with disabilities throughout her career in office. She has sponsored several bills including Senate Bill 200, an act providing for work experience for high school students with disabilities, and the Achieving a Better Life Experience Act.
Other award recipients will be announced throughout the month of February.
In addition, more than 30 pieces of artwork submitted by artists with disabilities to The Arc’s recent art contest will be exhibited and the top three winners awarded with distinguished honors.
We look forward to sharing this exciting evening with our members, friends, and Steelers Nation!
